About Astrobases - Construction
From idea to implementation The Astrobaza buildings – erected on a circular plan with a diameter of about 8m - reflect a typical shape of an astronomic observatory. They feature an automatic Meade LX 200 14 telescope as the central piece of equipment. The dome, whose diameter is four metres, is fully automated so as to enable the observers to follow the telescope as well as to remotely control the closing and opening of the dome. Observations which require the use of smaller devices can also be performed from the terrace of the building. Other pieces of equipment include a Coronado PST 40/400 solar telescope, binoculars, smaller telescopes and an astronomical CCD camera.
